Bosses tell social media celebrities: TikTok on your own time | Technology- Tempemail – Blog – 10 minute

They are some of the most popular videos on the shortform video-sharing app TikTok – clips of uniformed employees, from builders to nurses to supermarket staff, dancing and goofing around in their workplaces.
But police forces and other employers are dissuading staff from posting videos, warning that they risk appearing unprofessional and urging them to not let social media “get in the way of doing their jobs”.
TikTok, the Chinese-owned app that was downloaded more than two million times a day worldwide last year by users mostly aged between 16 and 34, has already propelled homegrown stars such as 15-year-old Charli D’Amelio to household name status as a result of its viral videos. Now a subsection of the app is proving particularly popular among viewers: people dancing on building sites, in shops, or near police stations or hospitals – and it is those workers who are becoming minor TikTok celebrities.
Danny Harris, 35, who works on a building site in central London, first realised he had become famous when he was recognised by staff at a local bakery as being a member of SparksandTarts, a TikTok profile with 34,700 followers.
SparksandTarts’ first video, of five labourers performing a roughly choreographed dance on a city-centre rooftop to a song from the musical Pitch Perfect, has been seen a million times since it was posted a month ago. They’ve now posted 10 videos.
“It has definitely evolved into its own entity,” said Harris. “We’re having TikTok meetings in our breaks to plan what videos we’re going to try to get out there. It’s becoming more of a part-time job. People are messaging each other at the weekend saying: ‘We should try this video next.’”

We do this in our breaktimes and after tea

Danny Harris, builder and member of SparksandTarts

The popularity of uniformed TikToks has several factors, said Brendan Gahan, chief social officer at marketing agency Mekanism, including the “public embarrassment [which] is definitely fun and cringeworthy.”
The idea that the employees may be discovered skiving off work also attracts audiences, Gahan added. “Generally, the more a piece of content can spark that emotional response, the more it’s shared and sparks a response.”
Harris and his workmates asked for their London building site not to be identified. “We do this in our breaktimes and after tea, and it’s one of these things where all my bosses are happy with it, but, for the sake of the clients funding this build, it’s probably best we’re not advertising exactly where we are,” he said.
That is the fundamental issue many uniformed TikTokers face: while their antics show a different, often more welcoming side to their industry or companies, they run the risk of appearing less than professional.
One Tesco employee, Tyler Beattie, earned 65,000 fans for posting videos of himself dancing in his uniform. In a video posted a few weeks ago, Beattie explained he had been banned from uploading any more videos in uniform. (And he did not respond to many requests for comment.)
A Tesco spokesperson said: “Social media is a fun way to communicate and share information with others. As representatives of Tesco, we ask all our colleagues to use their judgment, respect and common sense online, and make sure that it doesn’t get in the way of doing their jobs.”
However, other Tesco employees continue to post videos from stores in uniform, participating in “challenges” – often carefully choreographed dances to popular songs – that go viral. Nor is it limited to Tesco: videos tagged with the names of the UK’s big four supermarkets have been seen 99 million times on TikTok.
Police officers and paramedics are also going viral on the app. One Cheshire police officer recently passed 10,000 TikTok followers for her insights into how the force operates. Clips of her and colleagues driving the streets to Ridin’ by Chamillionaire, and Sound of da Police by KRS-One have been viewed more than 700,000 times.
The comments to both videos are divided between those who enjoy the lighthearted look into a police officer’s life, and others who think it a distraction from a very serious job.
Peter Caldwell, Cheshire Constabulary’s digital media manager, said: “Social media is one of many channels we use to communicate with the public.” He added that his force has social media guidance it expects staff to follow while at work. “We currently use Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram to promote the work of the force – however, with the world of digital media constantly evolving, the guidance also applies to new and emerging social media channels.”
For Harris, the popularity of SparksandTarts has come as a surprise. But there is one sure-fire sign they have made the big time on TikTok: a protective and high-vis clothing company has been in touch, asking to send them products they could wear in their videos.
So-called “brand deals” are the holy grail for influencers – and it seems they can even be brokered on building sites.

Capcom’s best-selling games of all time: DMC 5 most successful title in series, Resi 7 hits seven million sales – Blog – 10 minute

In a nutshell: Capcom has updated the list of its best-selling games of all time. Not too surprisingly, Monster Hunter: World sits in the number one spot, having sold 14.9 million units as of December 31, 2019. That’s almost double the number of sales by second-place Resident Evil 5.
Capcom’s top ten games are dominated by the Resident Evil and Monster Hunter games, with total sales for the latter series reaching 60 million. The only title in the top ten that’s not part of the two franchises is the original 1992 SNES release of Street Fighter 2, which is at number five with 6.3 million sales.
We also see that the excellent Resident Evil 7 is now the third best-selling entry in the series. Back in 2018, the critically acclaimed game had sold 5.1 million copies—2 million fewer than the panned Resident Evil 6. The figures saw Capcom confess that it values quality and critical acclaim over financial success when it comes to its games. Now, however, fourth-place Resi 7 is just 400,000 units short of catching up with Resi 6, which is the third best-seller.

Getting the family together for the holidays
Resident Evil 2 takes up both the sixth and seventh slots, though it’s the 2019 remake that sits above the PlayStation original. Last year’s game has sold 5.8 million copies, almost a million more than the 1998 title.
Further down the chart, Devil May Cry 5’s 3.1 million sales puts it in the 19th spot, making it the most successful entry in the long-running franchise.
Capcom’s ten best-selling games of all time:
1) Monster Hunter World: 14.9 million2) Resident Evil 5 (PS3/360 version): 7.6 million3) Resident Evil 6 (PS3/360 version): 7.4 million4) Resident Evil 7: 7 million5) Street Fighter 2 (SNES): 6.3 million6) Resident Evil 2 Remake: 5.8 million7) Resident Evil 2 (PS1): 4.96 million8) Monster Hunter Freedom 3 (PSP): 4.9 million9) Monster Hunter Generations (3DS): 4.3 million10) Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate (3DS): 4.2 million

Time For Indian Startups To Opt For More IPOs?- Tempemail – Blog – 10 minute

Read Article
Axilor Ventures Chairman and Infosys co-founder Kris Gopalakrishnan, said that Indian startups must think of Initial Public Offering (IPO) so that the fund crunch situation can be handled smoothly. This would also provide longevity to the fledging enterprises of startups.
Speaking at the ‘Seeding Kerala’ event organised by Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM), he said that the Indian startups are quite hesitant to go for an IPO, which is not that difficult. He said that his biggest issue was that the startup ecosystem today, is not doing an IPO. It’s time that the Indian public must own these companies.
He continued to say that India has USD two trillion of wealth in private hands. Heres less than one percent is invested in the startup ecosystem. There is a need to get more High Networth Individuals (HNIs) money going to the startups.
They advised startups to take minimum funds from angels, friends, and families. Startups have to create a minimum viable product, and also establish a unit economics positive and profitable model.
He added that a succesful business is one that employs people, creates jobs, and employment, and is a sustainable business that can be run for a long time. The best measure for a successful business is longevity. He said that India’s best late-stage startups are being owned by non-Indian entities. The percentage shows that more than 95 percent of funding comes from non-Indian entities.
Gopalakrishnan further continued that a maximum number of jobs are created in the first five years of the businesses of startups, and there is a need for a large number of MSMEs.
India, today has one of the most advanced fintech ecosystems, and even the US is looking forward to implement that. While summing up, he said that India needs to identify people that are passionate about starting a business, and train them on business basics, including running a business legally and ethically.

Hamish Nicklin on his time at The Guardian, its fossil fuel ad stance and moving to Dentsu- Tempemail – Blog – 10 minute

The Guardian has seen some significant changes to its leadership team of late, not least the changing of the guard at the top with David Pemsel’s less than eloquent departure as chief executive officer (CEO), to be succeeded by Annette Thomas in March.
However, with all the fuss around The Guardian breaking even for the first time in living memory, as well as the tabloid front page-making story of Pemsel’s decision not to take on the role of leading the Premier League, there is perhaps one member of that leadership team has arguably been forgotten… until he himself is set to make a move elsewhere, perhaps surprisingly.
Hamish Nicklin has served as the chief revenue officer (CRO) for the publisher since his move in 2016 from AOL and has been instrumental alongside Pemsel and editor-in-chief Kath Viner of driving the sea of change that has improved the financial performance of the publisher which just years before was burning through millions of pounds. He is set to join Dentsu Aegis UK and Ireland to lead the media side of the business as executive director, reporting to Euan Jarvie, its CEO and Peter Huijboom, global CEO of Dentsu Media and Global Clients.
Nicklin is an ever-friendly figure, usually smiling and always positive about what lies ahead of him, even in the greatest of challenges. He described the role at The Guardian as “his dream job” which makes it perhaps all the more surprising that he has chosen to move on within four years, although he later explains that his urge to join a media agency is to be a part of the creativity and “buzz” that they can generate when everything is “put together correctly.”
Of his time at The Guardian, he is clearly proud of the achievements he has played a leading role within.
“The whole goal of what I was trying to do for those four years as CRO was to help the rest of The Guardian reach that goal with breaking even. So we were burning through almost a hundred million quid’s worth of cash in 2015/16. And the goal was to help The Guardian break even and to become sustainable. We reached that last year and when that happens, and you’re working so hard to focus on that one thing and then it’s over, you take a breath and you go; ‘Right, that was amazing. That was brilliant. A lot of fun.’ Lots of challenge, you know, and the options are to go again with The Guardian, which was definitely one option to carry forward to the future.”
However, Nicklin, who has previously worked at Google as well as Morgan Stanley, was considering agency life, one sector of marketing he has never yet worked within when the phone rang one day presenting an opportunity.
“It’s something that I’ve always been interested in… and one day I got a call and thought ‘well it looks like the universe has spoken. Let’s just follow this and see what happens and where it takes me.’ And that’s where we ended up.”
Looking back on the achievement of leading The Guardian to break even, Nicklin admits “it wasn’t easy” but he does believe there was an appreciation externally around that.
“We [The Guardian] have still got huge opportunities ahead of us because of what we started with the transformation of the business, but also with the development of the reader revenues, which was something quite unique and transformational.”
Nicklin has yet to agree his start date with his new employers, and so is still in working with the publisher for the foreseeable future, and had a major say in another development in recent days; The Guardian’s decision to no longer accept advertising spend from fossil fuel companies, which ties closely back to its environmental ethos.
“The reality is, it’s something that we’ve been talking about for a while,” he explains. “When you consider our editorial stance on the climate crisis, the fact that last year we changed the way that we talk about the climate meant a heavier emphasis on what we really believe is happening and the fact that it is a crisis; we’ve run whole investigations into fossil fuel companies and some of the practices that they have been undergoing.”
He reveals that the decision was made following the Christmas break to impose the ban. “We just saw how the debate had changed in the public and knowing that with the way that our editorial coverage changed on the subject, Anna [Bateson, interim CEO] and I got together and decided that this really does feel the right thing to do. So, we talked to Katherine and the editorial teams who were fully supportive of it and said that this is the right thing to do for our brand. Given what I just said about our purpose and our values, it just seems to align entirely with that. I’m really proud of the decision that we made.”
He refuses to talk numbers when asked about the real impact the self-imposed ad ban will have on the revenue, but he is adamant that there will be a cost but that he is confident having monitored the reaction from readers that the shortfall will be made up by them in support.
“In the long term, it’s the right thing to do both for us, the world and our readers. I don’t know whether it’s going to make an impact on us, but we make it a different decision. We didn’t do it because of the money, we did it because it’s the right thing to do.
Since the announcement, Tempemail has heard that other major media titles are also considering a similar tact which Nicklin hopes will see transpire.
“We are in a climate crisis and some of the ways that those fossil fuel extraction companies specifically have been using advertising to promote their green credentials while at the same time spending billions on extracting fossil fuels and potentially denying climate change, all things which our journalists have reported on… It does seem to actually, is this the right thing to do given the climate crisis is undeniable? And I do genuinely hope ours follow suit, whether they feel that they want to take such a public stance is entirely of course up to them. But I hope they do.”
Nicklin is also coy about the involvement on incoming chief executive Annette Thomas, although he does admit she was involved in ‘conversations’ but that this decision was taken because “it was the right thing to do.”
Finally, on his new role and why he is excited to join Dentsu, he explains the acquisitions of different businesses within the media division, which includes Carat, Isobar, Amplify, Merkle and IProspect, he believes offers “a really powerful story to talk to clients about.”
He continues to outline the vision: “Part of the leadership team’s job is to “ensure that we can make that collaboration happen and bring all those different businesses together to clients to solve their problems. So that’s one part of it and obviously the other part is being responsible for the media line of business… and making sure that they can grow and adapt to the new changes that are going on in the media space.”
As with any change in role, it would appear Nicklin has chosen to move on while at the top but he is also clearly someone who wants to experience as many different challenges as he can through out his career, and so another one awaits within Dentsu.

Marks & Spencer Profits Jump for First Time in Four Years | Tempemail – Blog – 10 minute

A business (also known as an enterprise, a company or a firm) is an organizational entity involved in the provision of goods and services to consumers.Businesses serve as a form of economic activity, and are prevalent in capitalist economies, where most of them are privately owned and provide goods and services allocated through a market to consumers and customers in exchange for other goods, services, money, or other forms of exchange that hold intrinsic economic value.
Businesses may also be social non-profit enterprises or state-owned public enterprises operated by governments with specific social and economic objectives. A business owned by multiple private individuals may form as an incorporated company or jointly organise as a partnership. Countries have different laws that may ascribe different rights to the various business entities.

“There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure.”

In recent decades, states modeled some of their assets and enterprises after business enterprises. In 2003, for example, the People’s Republic of China modeled 80% of its state-owned enterprises on a company-type management system. Many state institutions and enterprises in China and Russia have transformed into joint-stock companies, with part of their shares being listed on public stock markets.

Business process management (BPM) is a holistic management approach focused on aligning all aspects of an organization with the wants and needs of clients. It promotes business effectiveness and efficiency while striving for innovation, flexibility, and integration with technology. BPM attempts to improve processes continuously. It can therefore be described as a “process optimization process.” It is argued that BPM enables organizations to be more efficient, effective and capable of change than a functionally focused, traditional hierarchical management approach.

Great things in business are never done by one person. They’re done by a team of people.

Many businesses are operated through a separate entity such as a corporation or a partnership (either formed with or without limited liability). Most legal jurisdictions allow people to organize such an entity by filing certain charter documents with the relevant Secretary of State or equivalent, and complying with certain other ongoing obligations. The relationships and legal rights of shareholders, limited partners, or members are governed partly by the charter documents and partly by the law of the jurisdiction where the entity is organized.
Business Discussions
Generally speaking, shareholders in a corporation, limited partners in a limited partnership, and members in a limited liability company are shielded from personal liability for the debts and obligations of the entity, which is legally treated as a separate “person”. This means that unless there is misconduct, the owner’s own possessions are strongly protected in law if the business does not succeed.
Where two or more individuals own a business together but have failed to organize a more specialized form of vehicle, they will be treated as a general partnership. The terms of a partnership are partly governed by a partnership agreement if one is created, and partly by the law of the jurisdiction where the partnership is located.

I love those who can smile in trouble, who can gather strength from distress, and grow brave by reflection. ‘Tis the business of little minds to shrink, but they whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves their conduct, will pursue their principles unto death.

No paperwork or filing is necessary to create a partnership, and without an agreement, the relationships and legal rights of the partners will be entirely governed by the law of the jurisdiction where the partnership is located.
A single person who owns and runs a business is commonly known as a sole proprietor, whether that person owns it directly or through a formally organized entity. Depending on the business needs, an adviser can decide what kind is proprietorship will be most suitable.
Some businesses are subject to ongoing special regulation, for example, public utilities, investment securities, banking, insurance, broadcasting, aviation, and health care providers. Environmental regulations are also very complex and can affect many businesses.
Stock Graphs.
Some specialized businesses may also require licenses, either due to laws governing entry into certain trades, occupations or professions, that require special education, or to raise revenue for local governments. Professions that require special licenses include law, medicine, piloting aircraft, selling liquor, radio broadcasting, selling investment securities, selling used cars, and roofing. Local jurisdictions may also require special licenses and taxes just to operate a business.

The first rule of any technology used in a business is that automation applied to an efficient operation will magnify the efficiency. The second is that automation applied to an inefficient operation will magnify the inefficiency.

London Street View.
Businesses often have important “intellectual property” that needs protection from competitors for the company to stay profitable. This could require patents, copyrights, trademarks, or preservation of trade secrets. Most businesses have names, logos, and similar branding techniques that could benefit from trademarking. Patents and copyrights in the United States are largely governed by federal law, while trade secrets and trademarking are mostly a matter of state law. Because of the nature of intellectual property, a business needs protection in every jurisdiction in which they are concerned about competitors.
Many countries are signatories to international treaties concerning intellectual property, and thus companies registered in these countries are subject to national laws bound by these treaties. In order to protect trade secrets, companies may require employees to sign non-compete clauses which will impose limitations on an employee’s interactions with stakeholders, and competitors.

Improving ATM Upgrade Time- Tempemail – Blog – 10 minute

By Rick Anderson

Most large US-based financial institutions claim they upgrade their Automated Teller Machines (ATM) about once a month with important security patches and other ATM software bug fixes.  This is good news, as the Windows Operating System has a large number of security patches each month which really must be installed to keep these “cash vaults” safe and secure.  Still, many of these companies are stuck in the stone-age when it comes to the methods used to upgrade these assets.  For example, some reported sending a technician out to visit each ATM and do a complete system reload by feeding multiple operating system and then multiple ATM software DVDs into the machine.  Besides the cost of the truck roll, this process takes lots of time (the ATM is unusable during this process) and it’s prone to operator error and mistakes.
The good news for the ATM industry is that other industries have already figured out new technologies which can improve the process.  Conservative verticals like the oil and gas industry, and even the now rapidly changing automotive industry have or are moving up the food chain and deploying much better solutions.  These new solutions have been proven over the years and really should be considered.  Here are some for consideration.

Some financial institutions and ATM manufactures are already deploying full image-based solution.  With these, instead of feeding DVDs, the new software is provided as one or more files that are essentially copied over to the hard disk drive (HDD).  This can be from DVD or USB thumb stick.  The advantage of this approach is that it is much faster than an install program reading from a DVD and figuring out which files to copy over one at a time.
Full image-based solutions do suffer from one big disadvantage – the typical ATM image is giga-bytes in size.  To overcome this, let’s review a solution that has been deployed in the mobile phone industry for over a decade now – differential images.  These updates only modify the parts of the original image which have changed instead of the entire image.  The resulting images are much smaller, so they can be downloaded faster and copied to the HDD more quickly.  There are multiple third-party solutions available here including Tempemail’s Edge Sync technology.  While this was developed for the auto industry, it’s finding good use in other industries as well and is considered an end-to-end lifecycle management solution.
For those who continue to send technicians directly to the ATMs, there are many firmware over the air (FOTA) solutions available today.  With these, software is sent via telephony, cellular, Wi-Fi or Ethernet to the device, unpacked, sanity checked and then installed autonomously.  This saves significant cost and can reduce human mistakes.  Many of today’s advanced orchestration solutions have FOTA Support.  Reference the Tempemail Titanium Cloud as an example platform.
As we look to the future, it’s important to realize that the bandwidth of the various pipes that lead to ATMs continues to grow.  In 2020, 5G technology will yield 50x faster connectivity, 10x improvement in latency, less power consumption and overall improved system capacity.  This will increase the speed at which FOTA downloads get to the ATM, as well as upload of ATM measurements, logs and diagnostics.
Another way to speed-up ATM software upgrades is to deploy physical HDD storage partitioning (creating multiple partitions) or to create multiple virtual machines on the drive.  While these come at the cost of potentially doubling HDD storage, they would allow new software to be loaded in the background and side-by-side with old software, and then the two images are quickly swapped.  Depending on the exact hardware/software architecture being used, ATM downtime can be limited to literally seconds instead of minutes or hours.
HDD failures were noted as a troublesome area for ATM providers.  There are three potential solutions here.  First, ATM could easily be equipped with two duplicate hard drives with failover software.  If one drive goes down, the second immediately takes over.  Second, today’s Solid State Drives (SSDs) are faster, more durable and longer lasting then HDDs, as they have no moving parts and can withstand drops, shock, extreme temperature, magnetic fields and other attacks better than HDDs.  Finally, there are software packages available which can detect when an HDD is starting to go bad and alert personnel that it should be changed out.  These can be predictive maintenance software or other edge-based artificial intelligence software solutions.

None of these ideas are necessarily new to the computer industry and the ATM industry should take notice.  While there might be additional hardware and software cost, the benefit might well be worth the investment.

$15bn a year: YouTube reveals its ad revenues for the first time | Technology – Blog – 10 minute

Google’s YouTube advertising revenues topped $1bn a month in 2019, the company announced on Monday, the first time it has revealed how much money the streaming service brings in.
But the news was not enough to satisfy investors who sold off shares in Alphabet, Google’s parent company, when it announced revenues for the last quarter that were below expectations. Shares fell 4% after the markets closed.
Sundar Pichai, Alphabet’s chief executive, has promised more transparency at the company following his elevation and the decision of founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page to step down from day-to-day operations.

In his first quarterly earnings release as head of Alphabet, Pichai revealed YouTube had revenues of $15.15bn in revenue in 2019, with $4.72bn in the fourth quarter alone. The figures do not include YouTube’s non-advertising revenue, like subscriptions for YouTube TV, which are included in Google’s other revenue segment.
Google’s fast growing cloud business, where it is fighting for market share with Amazon and Microsoft, generated $8.92bn in revenue in 2019, with $2.61bn generated in the fourth quarter.
Overall revenues jumped 17.3% to $46bn, below analysts’ forecasts of $46.94bn and the company’s worst fourth-quarter revenue growth since 2015. The company made a profit of $10.6bn over the quarter and $34.4bn over 2019.
“Our investments in deep computer science, including artificial intelligence, ambient computing and cloud computing, provide a strong base for continued growth and new opportunities across Alphabet,” said Pichai.

Nintendo hacker who leaked the Switch ahead of launch pleads guilty, hit with $260K fine and jail time – Blog – 10 minute

What just happened? There are numerous leakers in the tech industry who reveal products ahead of time, but they do this through legal means, such as company sources. Continually hacking a firm to steal pre-release info will get you into trouble, as one California man who revealed the Nintendo Switch before its launch has found out.
The Department of Justice writes that in 2016, 21-year-old Ryan Hernandez and an associated phished a Nintendo employee, grabbing their company credentials to steal files from the gaming giant. The stolen information, including pre-release information on the Nintendo Switch, was leaked online.
In October 2017, an FBI investigation identified Hernandez, and agents tracked him down to his parents’ California residence. He promised to stop hacking and “confirmed that he understood the consequences if any future hacking.”
But it seems Hernandez went back on his word. From at least June 2018 to June 2019, he hacked into various Nintendo servers to steal more files related to the company’s games and consoles. The DoJ writes that he boasted about his exploits using online platforms, including Twitter and Discord. He also had his own chat forum called “Ryan’s Underground Hangout,” where he chatted with others about the confidential information he had stolen and shared vulnerabilities in Nintendo’s network.
When the FBI raided Hernandez’s home in June 2019, they discovered thousands of confidential Nintendo files. They also found a folder called “Bad Stuff” on a drive, which contained over one thousand videos and images of child pornography.
Hernandez has agreed to pay $259,323 in restitution to Nintendo and will be required to register as a sex offender following his conviction. Under the terms of his plea agreement, prosecutors and defense attorneys recommend three years in prison, but that will be up to a judge to decide. The DoJ points out that the maximum sentence for computer fraud is five years, and twenty years for possession of child pornography.
Hernandez will be sentenced in April 2020.
In other Switch news, Nintendo has confirmed there won’t be a Pro version of the console released this year.

Free webinar: Time is precious, so find out how to use it more wisely in 2020- Tempemail – Blog – 10 minute

How do we spend our time at work? And are the ways we’re working together actually working? Constant emails, message notifications, unexpected meetings.
The creative industries are in the grip of a cultural pandemic: ‘work about work’ – the tasks and meetings that should be used to optimise and streamline working habits – is getting in the way of meeting the real objectives. Research from Sapio Research on behalf of Asana has found that well over half (60%) of office hours are spent on ‘work about work’. At a time when the demands on creative industry workers already far outstrips their resources, that can lead to missed targets and all the stress and hassle that comes along with that: fully 75% of creatives have suffered from burnout in the last six months.
This special Drumcast, in partnership with work management solutions provider Asana, will examine the Anatomy of Work in order to determine how best the issue of ‘work about work’ can be addressed and improved.
Asana’s head of global community Joshua Zerkel will take you through the research, pulling out insights from individual countries and sectors, and will offer solutions to a phenomenon that is putting the brakes on productivity in our industry.
For instance, while many of us instinctively know that many hours spent in meetings are wasted, it might come as a surprise that workers unnecessarily spend over five hours per week distracted by notifications and switching between apps.
